FATHER GLENN’S ANNIVERSARY

Father Glenn Eftink is celebrating his 25th Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood! You are invited to join him for this special occasion at a Mass which will be celebrated at Guardian Angel Parish in Oran on Tuesday, October 2, at 7:00 pm. A reception will follow the Mass. Let us pray for an increase in priestly vocations, especially among the young men of our parish family!

The MCC Annual Assembly will be held on Saturday, October 6, at Helias Catholic High School in Jefferson City. PARISH DINNER

St. Joseph Parish in Scott City is hosting their Fall Dinner on Sunday, September 9, in the Parish Center. The buffet meal will be served from 10:30am-1:00pm and will include Kettle Beef, Chicken & Dumplings, Chicken & Dressing, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Slaw, Dessert, and Drink. The cost is Adults ($10), Children 6-12 ($5), Under 6 is FREE.

CHURCH WINDOWS

Work will soon begin on the church windows which have already been removed. This is a very tedious process, so it may be a few months before they are all returned and installed. Due to the type of glass used for the sacred images which will be incorporated into our windows, a different type of glass must be used for the remainder of the window. The Church Renovation Committee has met and has chosen a glass that will beautifully complement the images. The original nameplates will be used as well. The musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" will be performed at the SEMO River Campus in Cape. Only 20 tickets will be available at a cost of $23 per seat. HOLY DAY SCHEDULE

THIS Wednesday, August 15, is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Please be reminded that this is a Holy Day of Obligation, and the faithful are obliged to attend Mass to celebrate this Mystery of our Faith. Masses for the Holy Day will be celebrated on Wednesday at 12:05pm and 6:30pm. A Vigil Mass will be celebrated in Charleston on Tuesday evening at 7:00pm and on Wednesday morning at 8:15am.

FATHER DAVID’S SCHEDULE

Father David will be in Sikeston on Monday, Friday, and late Wednesday afternoon for Confession and the evening Mass. Tuesday will be his personal day. He will be in Charleston on most of Wednesday and Thursday. This should be the "usual" schedule unless there is a funeral or "out of town" meeting he needs to attend. PSR REGISTRATION

If you have children who are not attending Catholic School, please take the time to enroll them in our Parish School of Religion (PSR). Registration for PSR will be held after Mass on Saturday/ Sunday, August 18/19, and again on Saturday/Sunday, August 25/26. Parents have a serious obligation to help their children grow in the Faith. The PSR program is a way to support and assist parents in this very important duty. Children who will preparing for First Reconciliation/First Holy Communion are required to attend PSR classes if they are not enrolled in a Catholic School.
