While he aspires to the untainted life which divine teaching shows is available to him, he is subjected to numerous and various temptations and sometimes succumbs to them. All religions, therefore, have their rites of purification: ablutions, baptisms, or even public penance which can, at times, take aberrant forms. WOMEN OF ST. FRANCIS MEETING

The Women of St. Francis Xavier Parish will meet in the St. Joseph Room at the Parish Center on Thursday, August 3, at 5:15 p.m. This active group of ladies assist the Knights of Columbus with their annual Fish Fry, host a luncheon and Mass of Annointing, serve a Chili/Chicken Noodle Soup Day, and with money raised, donate to many parish and community projects. We visit the homebound and nursing homes, taking flowers and treats. Your participation in meetings is encouraged and welcomed as we meet the first Thursday of each month. Please plan to attend - we think you will like us!

ANNUAL LEOPOLD PICNIC

St. John’s Parish in Leopold will host their Annual Picnic on the grounds behind the church in Leopold, MO on Saturday, July 29, 2017. This is an old fashioned country dinner with kettle beef, fried chicken, chicken & dumplings with all the trimmings. Serving from 3 pm until 8 pm. Adults, $10: Children (6-12), $5: Under 6 , free. Music: 8 pm—midnight (Silver Fox” playing) Tractor rides, crafts, homemade ice cream, games, etc.
