A FEW REMINDERS

As we celebrate our belief in Christ's Real Presence in the Most Holy Eucharist on this Solemnity of Corpus Christi, we are reminded of a few spiritual practices/teachings regarding the reception of Holy Communion at Mass: (1) In order to receive Holy Communion, a person must be free of serious sin (this includes deliberately missing Sunday Mass, especially on a regular basis); (2) A person should fast/refrain from food and drink (with the exception of water and medicine) ONE HOUR prior to receiving Holy Communion; (3) A person should NOT be chewing gum when receiving our Lord in Holy Communion; (4) When standing in fr...

MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY

The American Legion has announced that there will be a Memorial Day Ceremony THIS Monday, May 28, at the Sikeston Veterans Park (located on the Sikeston Airport Grounds). The ceremony will begin at 10:30 am. In case of rain, it will be held at the First Christian Church.

DIOCESAN DEVELOPMENT FUND

Please prayerfully consider your pledge for this important work and ministry of the Church in Southern Missouri. MAINTENANCE

A new roof as well as new HVAC (heating/cooling) units are needed for the Pre-K building. We have received bids for this work and hope to complete it in the near future. We will also be seeking bids to possibly renovate the Rock House for use as the rectory or to construct a new rectory in place of the Rock House. These plans were discussed at our meeting held in February. We will keep you posted on the progress of these projects. If you have any questions, please let me know.
