SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY

As Catholics, we hold the special belief that Marriage is one of the Sacraments of our Faith instituted by the Lord Himself. Those who are baptized Catholic and who profess to be Catholic have a serious moral and spiritual obligation to celebrate their marriage within the Catholic Church in order for it to be considered valid and binding. If a Catholic chooses to marry "outside the Church" without the proper permission from the bishop, that marriage is considered invalid and also prevents the Catholic party from receiving the other Sacraments of our Faith until they enter into a valid marriage within the Church. ...

Sunday, April 15— St. Denis Parish (Benton) will host a Mission Breakfast from 7:30 am to 11:30 am. Good Will Offerings will be accepted. Proceeds will be used for the Haiti 180 Mission Trip. Notre Dame Summer Camp Registration is now open at www.notredamehighschool.org/ summercamps. Camps are open to students entering grades K-8 in the 2018-2019 school year. Camps include athletics, science, robotics, and drama. Camps begin Tuesday, May 29. Saturday, April 21—St. Denis School (Benton) will host a Black Light Bingo beginning at 7 pm. CATHOLIC LADIES NIGHT

The Women of St. Francis Xavier will host the next “Ladies Night Out” THIS Tuesday, April 17. The evening will begin with Eucharistic Adoration at 6:30pm concluding with Benediction at 7:30pm. The opportunity for Confession will be available during this time. Following Benediction, small group discussions with snacks will be held in the St. Joseph Meeting Room until 8:30pm. Come and enjoy a great evening of prayer, fellowship, and faith sharing with other Catholic women!

MOTHER/DAUGHTER EVENT

A special gathering for mothers and daughters will be held in the Fellowship Room at Immaculate Conception Parish in Jackson on Saturday, April 21, beginning at 10:30am. This event, entitled "Wonder of Eve", is for young ladies in 7th grade and older and their mothers. The focus of this presentation is the beauty and power of the female body. LENTEN RICE BOWL

It was recommended and decided to keep all donations/offerings for the Lenten Rice Bowl in the parish to use for local needs, especially if someone in our parish family is in need. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this effort. A total of $1,268.64 was received through everyone's generosity. SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS

We are taking nominations for new School Board members for St. Francis Xavier School. To serve on the School Board, a person must be a practicing Catholic and have an invested interest in the well -being and growth of our parish school. The deadline to submit a nomination is Sunday, April 22. Elections for new members will be held at the weekend Masses on May 5/6.
