AREA CHURCH HAPPENINGS

The Scott City Knights of Columbus will host their Lenten Fish & Chicken Fry on Fridays in February and March. Serving from 4:30-7:00 pm at the Scott City KC Hall. Price of tickets: Adults $10 and Children 6-12 $5.00. Saturday, March 3—St. Denis Parish (Benton) is hosting their Dinner Auction at 6:00pm in the Parish Center. Call Shannon Mack at 703-4014 for tickets ($30 per person). Saturday, March 3—Knights of Columbus (Scott City) is hosting a Euchre Tournament at the KC Hall. STATIONS OF THE CROSS

The devotion of the Stations of the Cross will be offered each Friday during Lent at 2:00pm (when school is in session) and 7:00pm. Consider bringing your family to this very beautiful prayer commemorating the Passion of our Lord. Please note that there will NOT be Stations of the Cross this Friday, March 2, at 2:00pm as school dismisses early this Friday. Stations WILL be offered at 7:00pm.

SEASON OF LENT

Our Lenten Season begins THIS Wednesday (Ash Wednesday), February 14. Please note that Masses will be offered at noon and 6:00pm. Please be reminded that Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fast and abstinence. All other Fridays during Lent are days of abstinence. To fast means to eat only one full meal during the day. To abstain means to refrain from eating any meat. May these penitential practices help make this Lenten Season spiritually fruitful for us!
