CHRISTMAS FLOWERS

If you would like to make a memorial donation to help purchase Christmas Flowers for the church, please enclose your donation in the envelope included with the regular offering envelopes and place it in the collection basket at Mass. Please complete the information requested on the front of the envelope. A special flyer will be included in the bulletin with the names of those who made a donation. Any donations received which exceed the cost of the poinsettias are used to purchase plants/flowers for the church throughout the year. Please submit your donation by Monday, December 18. Thanks for your generosity!

MEMORIAL DONATIONS

The Building Committee has discussed additional projects to beautify and enhance our parish church. It has been recommended that we purchase new sanctuary furnishings (altar, ambo, chairs, credence table, baptismal font) which would coordinate better with the style and architecture of the church. A company has also been contacted regarding the installation of stained glass windows (with the possibility of stained glass images being incorporated into the existing windows), as well as additional decorative painting behind the tabernacle/crucifix in the sanctuary. CHRISTMAS MASSES

Our Christmas Masses here in Sikeston will be celebrated on Christmas Eve at 6:00 pm and on Christmas Morning at 9:00 am. The Christmas Masses in Charleston will be celebrated on Christmas Eve at midnight and on Christmas Morning at 9:00 am.

Next weekend, November 18/19, we will have a second collection to support the work of Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri. It is also designated as the World Day of the Poor. Please take part in the World Day of the Poor through a generous donation to the second collection.

NOTRE DAME OPEN HOUSE

Notre Dame High School will hold its Annual Open House for Grade School/Junior High students on Monday, November 13th, at 6:30 pm. Those interested in making Notre Dame their High School for the 2018-19 school year should come for a tour and an evening of fun.

NOTRE DAME CHRISTMAS EXTRAVAGANZA

Notre Dame Regional High School’s 22nd Annual “3-Day Christmas Extravaganza” will take place on November 17, 18, & 19. The craft, gifts & collectibles show will open on Friday, November 17, at 5:00 pm and will open at 9:00 am on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $2. Sunday is Family Fun Day with free admission and a special appearance by Santa Claus.

St. Denis (Benton) is hosting a “Winter Wonderland of Treasures” sale on Saturday, December 2, 8:00 am-2:00 pm, featuring crafts, breakfast items and soups. St. Joseph (Scott City) is hosting a sausage breakfast at the KC Hall on Sunday, November 26, from 7:30-10:30 am. A “good will” donation is appreciated.

St. Augustine Church (Kelso) will host a Chili/Chicken Noodle Soup Supper in the school gym on Saturday, November 11, from 4:00 pm-7:30 pm. Adults-$7 and students-$5. St. Vincent de Paul Parish (Cape Girardeau) will sponsor a Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, November 11, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm in the St. Vincent de Paul Center (Old Notre Dame High School). Admission is free. Lunch will be served by the Knights of Columbus.

It is rather an attitude of willingness to accept help. No one is truly self-sufficient. We all lack some skill or ability, perhaps several.
